A Lotta Years, A Big Celebration

As we come around the bend and head into the coming week, I'm feeling both excited and anxious about our HAAM Benefit Day and Fable's 40th Anniversary Show this coming Tuesday, Sept 1.  Threadgills is always a great place for us to play and the folks there are always great to us.  We need a good turn out so I hope you come and bring about 40 of your closest friends.

We have quite a bit to celebrate and a great cause - Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) - to benefit.  Whether you come to Threadgills or somewhere else, just be sure to get out and see some great music and give generously.  We thank you sincerely!

Robin Mordecai will be debuting his new songs.  I've never seen him front a band before - he won't let me watch his rehearsals.  He's got some great players backing him up - our good friend and Fable Artist Matt Wilson, the extraordinary Dave Madden taking the drum chair, the awesome Michael Stevens on bass, David Spencer on guitar and the Fairlane Horn Section.  It's hard to not be "Mom".  I'm so proud of him I'm just bubbling over but I need to remain objective. Don't I?

The rest of the night will be jam packed with great stuff and I hope we can make the set changes quickly enough.  EXTREME HEAT is joining us!!  I'm really excited about this.  They'll be bringing their infectious Funk to the stage and back to the Fable Label with their upcoming CD.  Can't wait!!

I do hope you'll come.  Forty years is a long time to survive in this business and while we haven't been high profile, we have built some great relationships with some wonderful musicians and have had the privilege of documenting their amazing talent on our records.

See you Tuesday!
